Randy Brecker, who turned 76 in 2021, shows on a fast version of “My Shining Hour” that, after over 55 years of constant playing in all types of musical circumstances, he was still very much in his prime.

Brecker is joined by tenor-saxophonist Chad Lefkowitz Brown (who takes a lengthy and fiery solo while never running out of ideas) and pianist Emmet Cohen’s trio with bassist Yasushi Nakamura and drummer Kyle Poole.

Be sure to catch the interplay between the two horns during the last part of this high-powered performance.
