During the first half of the 1970s and occasionally afterwards (when they were known as Soprano Reunion), Bob Wilber and Kenny Davern teamed up as Soprano Summit.
A consistently exciting group that featured Wilber and Davern on sopranos and clarinets, Soprano Summit in its early days also included guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, bassist George Duvivier, and drummer Bobby Rosengarden.
This is a beautiful version of a sentimental ballad that Sidney Bechet had recorded decades before: “Song Of Songs.”
