Samara Joy made a strong impression when she won the 2019 Sarah Vaughan Vocal Competition.
She released her debut self-titled album in 2021, a set of vintage songs that display her beautiful voice in an intimate trio that features guitarist Pasquale Grasso.
The opening selection of the album is “Stardust” which was fortunately filmed for this clip.
The beauty and maturity of the 21-year old’s voice is obvious and her use of space, singing in an unhurried style, is also impressive.
For Samara Joy, this is just the start.
