June Christy (1925-90) became famous as the most popular and beloved of Stan Kenton’s singers, working with his orchestra during 1945-51 and occasionally during the next decade.
She also had a strong solo career, becoming well-known for her version of “Something Cool.”
In 1951 she was filmed for five Snader transcriptions that were shown on television, including this version of “Taking A Chance On Love.”
June Christy is joined by a combo led by accordionist Ernie Felice that also includes clarinetist Dick Anderson, pianist Claude Williamson, bassist Dick Fisher, and drummer Rollie Bundock.
