In 2021, Eliane Elias released an album of piano duets, half with Chick Corea and the other selections with Chucho Valdes.
Fortunately some of her musical encounters with Corea were filmed including their swinging rendition of “There Will Never Be Another You.”
Starting with Corea taking the melody and his first solo with just his right hand, Elias gets her turn and then they trade off and interact in exciting fashion.
When Corea plays the closing melody chorus, Elias seems reluctant to end the piece and they play together over a vamp before the performance quietly ends with their smiles.
