Pat Metheny has consistently been one of the most creative guitarists in jazz of the past 45 years.
His most popular band, the Pat Metheny Group, was a longtime collaboration with pianist-keyboardist Lyle Mays that had Metheny and Mays writing nearly all of their material.
“To The End Of The World” is a medium-tempo piece with one of their prettiest melodies, and a groove that inspires the soloists.
Metheny and Mays solo and are joined by bassist Steve Rodby, drummer Paul Wertico, percussionist Armando Marcal, and the voices of David Blamires and Mark Redford for a performance that is both definitive and soothing.
