Filmed at his home during August 1978 Sam Chatmon (vocal & guitar) sings “Cold Blooded Murder Blues.”
Nearly half a century after making his last recording with the “Mississippi Shieks”, Sam Chatmon sings the blues from his front porch in Hollandale, Mississippi where he had resided since the 1940s. Renowned folk music collector Alan Lomax is there as well, camera rolling, joined by his colleagues John Bishop and Worth Long to capture the performance for the ages. The Mississippi bluesman is rumored to have been the half brother of Charlie Patton.
