Maurice John Vaughn began working as a professional musician during the late ’60s playing saxophone with Chicago R&B groups. He soon found himself touring and recording as a sideman with blues greats like Luther Allison, Son Seals, Junior Wells, and A. C. Reed, releasing his own solo debut titled “Generic Blues Album” in 1984.
