Little Sonny

Little Sonny’s debut

Detroit bluesman Little Sonny (harmonica & vocals), is featured on his 1958 debut single accompanied by Eddie Burns (guitar), Chuck Smith (piano), and Jim Due Crawford (drums).

Aaron “Little Sonny” Willis was born in Greensboro, Alabama during the early 1930’s. His family relocated to Detroit in 1953 where he first heard the harmonica of Sonny Boy William II and became inspired. For that point on he worked in a used car lot during the day and practiced blues harp at night. The hard work and dedication paid off and Aaron was soon playing club dates with big names such as Eddie Kirkland, and John Lee Hooker. He record his first single released on the Duke label in 1958.
