John Primer performs with his band utilizing a bare fingered slide technique.

John Primer spent a few years in the 1970s as a main stay at the once prominent Chicago club Theresa’s. His abilities on slide guitar were something that he learned from Sammy Lawhorn, Muddy Water’s guitarist at the time. In 1980 Primer got his chance with the band where he remained until Muddy’s death in 1983.
