Walking By Myself
Jimmy Rogers & James Cotton
Live at Antone’s
Filmed live at Antone’s, in Austin Texas, 1985 featuring Jimmy Rogers (guitar & vocals), Luther Tucker (guitar), and James Cotton (harmonica).
When guitarist Jimmy Rogers joined Muddy Waters first Chicago band in 1947 the group had a notorious reputation for stealing gigs. The musician all continued to record as solo artists and in Roger’s did the same recording on small Chicago labels without much luck in getting any of his material released. In 1950 Rogers enjoyed his first hit “That’s All Right” after singing with Chess. Upon leaving Muddy’s band his next solo success came in 1956 with “Walking By Myself.”
