This recording was made on March 17, 1931 in Chicago with Charley Jordan (vocals & guitar).

St. Louis bootlegger and blues man, Charley Jordan walked with the aid of crutches due to a bullet lodged in his spine as the result of a 1928 shooting. During the late ’30s he began performing with Big Joe Williams. Originally from Mabelvale, Alabama Jordan carried elements of the region’s blues style with him to St. Louis.
