Thorogood on Midnight Special

George Thorogood and his band The Destroyers featured on television series “The Midnight Special” in 1979 performing their hit “Move It On Over.”

“The Midnight Special” was a Friday night Pop Rock variety show taped in front of a live studio audience. It ran on NBC TV in the same weekly time slot of 12:30 AM to 2AM EST for 9 years (1972-1981). Hosted by Wolfman Jack was the host with a different guest host each week. At times the show also featured concert footage.

During the late 1970s, George Thorogood and his band “The Destroyers” were based in Boston. His major recording debut came in 1976 with the album: George Thorogood & The Destroyers, which was released in 1977. In 1978 their second album was released titled for the remake of Hank Williams’ “Move It On Over” included on the record.
