Dee Dee Bridgewater has been one of the major jazz singers of the past 40 years, and she seems to grow in power and depth every year.
For this performance of Billie Holiday’s “Fine And Mellow,” she interacts with and encourages several promising Berklee students (most notably trumpeter Akili Bradley, the impressive organist Anastassiiya Petrova, and bassist Devon Gates) while putting a lot of emotion into the lowdown blues.
