Anita O’Day was one of jazz’s top singers during her peak years, from the late 1940s into the mid-1960s.
She had her own sound and swinging phrasing as can be heard on this performance from 1963.
Joined at a nightclub in Sweden by pianist Goran Engdahl, bassist Roman Dylag, and her longtime drummer John Poole, she swings on “Fly Me To The Moon” in her own inimitable fashion.
