At the 2010 Buddy DeFranco Jazz Festival at the University of Montana, two masterful veterans and a potentially significant relative newcomer team up on “Autumn Leaves.”
Buddy DeFranco, the master of the bebop clarinet goes first, Gene Kelly does well on alto, and altoist Lee Konitz is typically thoughtful and explorative.
With fine backing by the local rhythm section, this performance gives each horn player and the pianist opportunities to stretch out on a familiar standard
