In 2008-2009, Gregory Porter burst onto the jazz scene, causing quite a sensation with his resonant and versatile baritone voice, his songwriting prowess, and his eagerness to explore new horizons, often expressing profound passion.

While Porter’s recent performances have leaned towards a safer and more foreseeable direction, his exceptional voice and remarkable potential as a jazz vocalist remain intact.

In this performance captured at the Skopje Jazz Festival on October 17, 2015, Gregory Porter delivers one of his thought-provoking and introspective original compositions, “Be Good.” He is accompanied by the same ensemble that accompanied him at the inception of his solo career: Yosuke Sato on alto saxophone, Chip Crawford on piano, Aaron James on bass, and Emanuel Harrold on drums.

In this rendition of “Be Good,” which serves as the title track of Porter’s 2011 album, his voice shines alongside his bandmates’ artistry, offering a memorable musical experience.
