Return To Forever made a huge impact during the fusion years despite only being in existence for five years (1972-77) and having three different versions.
While the early unit with Flora Purim and Joe Farrell was significant and there was a big band RTF in 1977, Return To Forever is best remembered when it was a fusion supergroup with keyboardist Chick Corea, guitarist Al DiMeola, bassist Stanley Clarke and drummer Lenny White.
This brief but intriguing ensemble-oriented version of “Beyond The 7th Galaxy” was performed in 1975 on the PBS series Soundstage.
