Big Chief

Eddie Bo

An informal excerpt from 2008

Eddie Bo (1930-2009) was born Edwin Joseph Bocage and was a popular singer and pianist in New Orleans for many decades.

Bo’s music crossed over between jazz, blues, soul and funk.

He had several regional hits during 1955-59 and in the 1980s toured with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

This privately shot clip dates from Apr. 18, 2008 and features Eddie Bo’s band.

There are brief banjo and drums solos with Eddie Bo only actually near the end of this colorful clip as he finishes the song.
