Originally recorded for his 1962 album “Go,” “Cheese Cake” is part of what would be a very critically acclaimed album.

During Philadelphia native Gordon’s four-decade career, he became key in putting the dialogue of bebop to the tenor saxophone. Six years after this performance he would claim a Grammy and be entered into the French Order of Arts and Letters.
