Yamandu Costa

Eclectically inspired

Yamandu Costa’s father, Algacir, was the leader of a band called Os Fronteiriços, or The Frontiersman. It was at that time that Algacir began to teach his very young son how to play the seven-string nylon guitar.

The younger Costa would became an authority on Brazilian folk music – a student of the past with a diverse range of styles he adopts in performances and on albums. As of this writing in 2013 he continues to regularly release albums.
