Ella Fitzgerald and the Manhattan Transfer never recorded together, but on one brief occasion they made a bit of forgotten music history.

At the 1983 Grammy Awards, they were together on stage performing “How High The Moon.”

Ella was close to 70 but could still out scat anyone and the Manhattan Transfer clearly loved being her backup group.

It never happened again.
