How Long Has This Been Going On

Ben Webster

Hot enough to swing, cool enough to take it slow

Known by additional alias “Frog” and “The Brute,” Ben Webster was a Missouri-born tenor saxophonist. Eclectic enough to go beautifully down tempo – as you can see here – Webster is far better known for his contributions to swing.

George Gershwin wrote “How Long Has This Been Going On” for his 1928 musical “Funny Face.” Although the composition didn’t ultimately make it to the stage, it was used in the musical “Rosalie.”
