One of the top jazz singers to emerge during the 2020s, Caity Gyorgy recorded six albums during 2021-25.

She has a warm voice, a swinging style, is a fine scat-singer, and an excellent songwriter.

Performing on the notable weekly podcast Emmet’s Place, Caity Gyorgy is joined by pianist Emmet Cohen, bassist Yasushi Nakamura, and drummer Kyle Poole for a rollicking version of Cole Porter’s “It’s Too Darn Hot.”

Her assertive singing, Cohen’s hard-swinging piano solo, and Caity Gyorgy’s second vocal which spaces out the words perfectly and includes a bit of scatting make this an enjoyable version.
