Tune written in 1942 by a 38 year old Fats Waller during an incredibly busy and successful time in his career.
Bobby Hutcherson was born in 1941 so maybe Fats wrote it for him.
I hear good things about Jazz Baltica. It’s a summer festival, usually held in July.
Until 2011, it was held in Schloss Salzau close to Kiel, Germany by the coast of the Baltic Sea, thus its name. Last year (2012), it moved to Evers-Werft at Niendorf harbor.
I’m told it’s a very laid back scene with intimate concert settings and tickets limited to just a few thousand.
It’s a pure jazz festival. No rock, R & B or pop stars.
