Herbie Hancock has been considered one of the giants of jazz since the early 1960s, always having his own style and approach to playing music, whether on acoustic piano or electric keyboards.

For this 1996 performance, he leads a quartet through an acoustic and uptempo version of “Just One Of Those Things.”

Hancock reharmonized the song a bit and, after playing a creative introduction, sets a racehorse tempo.

Tenor-saxophonist Craig Handy makes a particularly strong statement, drummer Gene Jackson takes an explosive solo and they are pushed throughout by Hancock and bassist Dave Holland.
