New Orleans musician Glenn David Andrews talks about the roots of his passion for music.
The second video is from the days immediately after the levee failure. Andrews talks about how the city was abandoned by the government (federal, state, and local) and living in a car, and then a trailer, to help bring the music back to the city – without one shred of support from “official” New Orleans.
New Orleans is a city being rebuilt in spite of the government, not with its help.
We ALL better be taking notes.
