Spotlight on Moody
The “Dizzy Gillespie Quintet” are featured during a 1966 TV performance in London on “Jazz 625.”
Dizzy introduces the members of his Quintet before calling James Moody to center stage for the performance of a solo played on flute.
Moody who had first worked in the Gillespie band for two years in the mid-’40s following service in the military rejoined the group in 1964.
