During the past decade, Gregory Porter has emerged not only as one of jazz’s top male singers but a talented songwriter whose lyrics paint pictures and tell socially significant stories.
“On My Way To Harlem” is about the legacy of Harlem; no matter that Porter was originally from Bakersfield!
On this performance from International Jazz Day in 2022, Porter is joined by an all-star cast that includes trumpeter Jeremy Pelt, altoist Erena Terakubo, guitarist Mark Whitfield, pianist Helio Alves, bassist Linda Oh and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington.
