The hour-long telecast The Sound Of Jazz is considered by many to be the greatest of all jazz films.

From 1957, The Sound Of Jazz featured many great all-stars, with two songs being performed by a classic band led by trumpeter-singer Henry “Red” Allen.’

“Rosetta” has hot solos from trumpeter Allen, cornetist Rex Stewart, clarinetist Pee Wee Russell, tenor-saxophonist Coleman Hawkins, trombonist Vic Dickenson and drummer Jo Jones along with a few stirring ensembles.

This exhilarating performance is well worth seeing several times.
