Bill Frisell was a significant guitarist more than a decade before Julian Lage was born but the two guitarists have complementary and equally adventurous yet often laidback styles.
They teamed up for a duet concert in late 2021.
On “Someday My Prince Will Come,” Lage plays an abstract introduction before accompanying Frisell’s melody statement.
The older guitarist solos first and then provides some inspired accompaniment behind Lage before the two joyfully interact with each other in colorful fashion.
