Guitarist Pat Metheny and keyboardist Lyle Mays formed the Pat Metheny Group in 1977 and, while there would plenty of personnel changes throughout the years (beyond those two) and side projects for the guitarist, it remained a very popular band playing unclassifiable music through 2005.
Here is the 2002 version of the Group featuring Metheny (on guitar synthesizer), Mays, guitarist-singer Richard Bona, bassist Steve Rodby, drummer Antonio Sanchez, and trumpeter Cuong Vu.
They perform “Song For Bilbao” which Metheny and Mays first recorded in 1982 on their Travels album.
