Stardust

Kurt Elling has been one of the best (and few) male jazz singers of the 21st century.

At a concert in Australia with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra from around 2010, Elling is heard in top form on “Stardust.”

Elling lets the famous melody speak for itself, only improvising away from it during his outstanding closing cadenza; bassist Rob Amster (1964-2013) also takes a fine solo.
