Bobby Watson has had a long and versatile career as an alto-saxophonist, one that includes working for four years with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, leading his band Horizon, being a member of the 29th Street Saxophone Quartet. playing free improvisations, and paying tribute to Johnny Hodges.

While he has been an important educator in the Kansas City area since 2000, he has remained active as a player and grown in power and depth through the years.
