Nat King Cole had great success in his two overlapping careers as a jazz pianist and a 1950s middle-of-the-road pop singer.

While his vocal ballads tended to be his biggest sellers, Cole’s singing sometimes crossed the boundaries into swinging jazz.

On this version of “The Way You Look Tonight,” Cole (who uses a melodica as a novelty) swings with an unseen big band and shows that he was always capable of being a top-notch jazz singer too.
