Jazz has been a universal language ever since recordings were first exported to Europe in the early 1920s.
The Molnar Dixieland Band, based in Budapest, Hungary, has been active since the late 1970s, appearing at Dixieland festivals and locally.
For this spirited version of “Tiger Rag,” the impressive clarinetist Gyula Molnar and pianist Maria Garay are featured with the ensembles of the Hungarian group sounding very much like a traditional jazz band from New Orleans.
