All eras of jazz are alive and well, at least artistically.

From New Orleans in 2019, clarinetist Dr. Michael White and pianist Shayne Cohn bring back the sounds of Johnny Dodds and Jelly Roll Morton on an early Morton tune that was first recorded in 1923.

They play creatively within the vintage style without copying anyone, simply by playing in their own musical personalities.

A jam session on a multi-theme song can be a gamble, but White and Cohn listen closely to each other and the result is joyful music; check out the clarinetist during the final two choruses.
