Come On In My Kitchen
Robert Johnson
Delta Blues Classics
This recording was made by Robert Johnson (guitar and vocals) in San Antonio, Texas on Monday November 23, 1936.
It is with astounding imagery and poetic symbolism that Robert Johnson delivers his classic tale of lost love and hardship. The song is a plea from a man who’s woman left him to a woman who finds herself put out doors by her man to join him (“come on in my kitchen”) because she has no where else to go (“it’s going to be raining out doors”) and cannot provide for herself.
