Babe Turner better known as the Black Ace performs the slide blues for which he is associated most.
Babe Turner was born in Hughes Springs, Texas where he was raised on his families farm and taught himself guitar. His acquaintance with Hawaiian-style guitarist Oscar “Buddy” Woods in the 1930’s influenced him to begin performing slide on a National steel guitar.
