Dave Myers (bass & vocals) is featured during a live performance in 1977 accompanied by Jimmy Johnson (guitar), and Odie Payne Jr. (drums).

Equally capable on both guitar and electric bass Dave Myers was a founding member of “The Aces” the most influential of early eclectic Chicago blues bands along with his brother Louis Myers, Junior Wells, and Fred Below. He learned the rudiments of blues guitar along with his brother from their father Amos Myers as a boy and was inspired by the legendary Lonnie Johnson. During the ’50s he became known as “Thumper” for his innovative use of electric guitar to play percussive bass lines that could be heard in noisy Chicago clubs.
