C. C. Rider & Water Boy
Josh White
Blues on the Range
In an excerption from the 1949 Western “The Walking Hills”, blues legend Josh White (guitar & vocals) performs his rendition of the standard “C. C. Rider” followed by the field holler “Water Boy.”
The plot of the movie is set around the plight of an opportunistic band of treasure hunter’s search for a lost wagon train full of gold. This b movie adventure-drama starring Randolph Scott and Ella Raines owes alot to Josh White who’s natural magnetic presence and music are perhaps the only reason it is remembered.
