During the 1964 American Folk Blues Festival European tour Howlin’ Wolf (guitar & vocals), performs with Sunnyland Slim (piano), Hubert Sumlin (guitar), Willie Dixon (bass), and Clifton James (drums).

Due to his greater abilities as a singer and harmonica player it is sometimes forgotten that The Wolf remained a quite competent guitarist until his death. He had after all learned the blues from his one time brother in law the ‘Father of the Delta blues’ himself Charley Patton. Here Chester Burnett gets a chance to demonstrate the benefit of this tutelage intermittently backing his own guitarist Hubert Sumlin.
