Born and raised in Chicago up to the age of 12 and in the South during his teenage years, Diamond Jim Greene was introduced to the blues as a seven-year old when he saw a street performer.
Over the years, Greene developed into a distinctive singer and country blues guitarist, one who has visited Europe often since 1995 and performed acoustic blues throughout the United States.
This fine clip features Diamond Jim Greene and Lamont Harris on harmonica performing a memorable version of Dave MacKenzie’s “Girlfriend Blues.”
During this rendition, on the guitar Greene does a note-for-note tribute to MacKenzie’s original recording from 1999.
