A swinging and joyful performance by the great organist

Rhoda Scott, who turned 83 in 2021, has been a top organist since the 1960s.
She would be much better known in the U.S. but she moved to France in 1967 where she has worked and recorded ever since with only rare visits back to America.
On this rollicking version of “Fly Me To The Moon,” Rhoda Scott is virtually the entire show whether emphasizing passionate chords, heated single-note lines, or playing basslines with her bare feet.
While a singer and an accompanying big band eventually join in, this is very much a showcase for Rhoda Scott.
