Although it is difficult for him not to be overshadowed by his older brothers Wynton and Branford, trombonist Delfeayo has carved out his own place in the modern jazz scene.
He gathered together an all-star group of young greats to jam Thelonious Monk’s “Blue Monk” back in 2009.
Featured are Marsalis, trumpeter Marlon Jordan, altoist Mark Gross, and trombonist Vincent Gardner (who makes a humorous statement utilizing his lower register) with fine support from the late great bassist Charnett Moffett, and drummer Herlin Riley before an abrupt cutoff in the final chorus.
