Born and raised in Canada, pianist Kris Davis has gained significant recognition in the jazz world after relocating to New York in 2001 and releasing her debut album, Lifespan, in 2003.

Since then, she has cultivated her distinctive and daring style, frequently emphasizing single-note lines in her playing.

In 2016, Davis established the Pyroclastic label and has since been acknowledged as one of the foremost jazz pianists of her time.

Titled after her son’s playful encounters with sand on the beach, “Dig & Dump” is a duet with drummer Marcus Gilmore that explores various moods and musical landscapes.
