Composed and published by Jimmy Van Heusen in 1953, “Here’s That Rainy Day” first graced the stage in the Broadway production “Carnival in Flanders.” Since then, it has received numerous renditions from notable artists such as McCoy Tyner, Ray Brown, Joe Pass (another guitar virtuoso), Billy Eckstine, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Wes Montgomery, Freddie Hubbard, Art Farmer, and Oscar Peterson.

This recording, showcasing guitarist Barney Kessel, was captured for television during the mid-1970s.
