With the retirement and passing of all of the top veteran jazz vibraphonists of the 1960-80s (including Bobby Hutcherson, Gary Burton and Terry Gibbs), Stefon Harris has emerged as the new pacesetter for the younger generation of talented vibists.
Harris first recorded as a leader in 1998 and he has worked with many of the who’s who of jazz since then including Joe Henderson, Terell Stafford, Charlie Hunter, Jason Moran, Kurt Elling, Joshua Redman, and Diana Krall while also leading his own projects.
For this 2015 performance, Stefon Harris (heard on both vibes and marimba) plays a tasteful and thoughtful duet with pianist Alex Brown on the ballad “I Fall In Love Too Easily.”
