Samba da Catalina

Conrado Paulino

A fun jazz samba from Brazil

Conrado Francisco Paulino Bonilla, who is best known as Conrado Paulino, is an Argentinian musician who awhile back settled in Brazil.

From a Brazilian concert in Sept. 2005, Conrado Paulino and his quartet perform his “Samba da Catalina,” a delightful melody played over the chord changes of “There Will Never Be Another You.”

Each of the four musicians get their spots during this infectious jazz samba.

While Conrado Paulino is not well known in the United States to jazz fans, everyone should check out this fun performance which is a high-quality example of Brazilian bebop.

Personnel:

Conrado Paulino, guitar
Debora Gurgel, piano
Marinho Andreotti, electric bass
Percio Sapia, drums
