A visit with Emanuel ‘Manny’ Sayles

Living memories of old New Orleans

Born in 1907, the life of guitarist and banjo player Emanuel ‘Manny’ Sayles spanned the history of jazz.

In 1977, a group of filmmakers had the presence of mind to catch up with him in his home town in New Orleans and ‘hang out’ with him a bit.
